EXCLUSIVE TO EMBRACE LIFESTYLE
STAR OF THE MONTH : RADIANCE ACAPPELLA
The first star of the month is radiance acappella, a group of talented young men. It is a group which minsters to both the young and the old. The group was formed in November 2012 and they have never looked back since then. They have released two albums anotonhonza and i believe, currently they are working on their third album. The group had recently travelled to Zambia to minister at a concert hosted by a group called Hoppers. Embrace lifestyle blogger Miss T had the opportunity of interviewing the members of radiance acappella.

Give us a brief history of how the group was formed?
Radiance acappella was formed in November 2012 and it was founded by Tonde, Nyasha and Luckson. Luckson’s sisters were part of the group so when we were preparing for our concert which was on the 17th of November all the girls went on holiday so we had to get replacements and we asked Tafara to join the group. On our concerts we used to sing a funny song called machunks and that’s how the group Radiance was formed from then onwards we had new members. Then we recorded anotonhonza which was recorded in different studios.
How did people receive your first album?
The people received the album quite well. Chengeta sabata was quite the hit song.
Your second album i believe is a great project what inspired the project?
Well i believe is an album that has songs written by different people based on their experiences in their spiritual life and it is the different experiences with God that inspired the album.
You launched your second album in Bulawayo how was the whole experience?
The Bulawayo launch was just awesome. The support was just overwhelming not for us though but for Christ through us. We did not think there would be such a huge turnout and the concert was success praise the Lord.
The group has new members, to the new members how does it feel to be part of the group?
What we enjoy is the brotherhood some would call it bromance lol and when we joined the group we did not feel new because they were nice to us.
What keeps the group going?
Prayer and music unites us as a group. It brings oneness in ministry and the love and passion brings us together.
You just came back from Zambia how was it ministering there?
It was just a wonderful experience we had a great time and the people there are amazing they are so supportive. The music was great; the Lord really used us we sang at four churches on Saturday then at a concert on Sunday.
In pursuing music there are challenges and negativity how do you deal with these issues?
Well we just encourage ourselves by reminding each other who we are serving in this ministry and that gives us the strength to push through all obstacles that we face as a group and as a ministry. As radiance we believe every challenge we face God will make a way and we believe that God is taking us far, this ship is going far.
What advice would you give to acappella groups who are still starting?
Well the problem with many groups is that they want to compete so the advice would be not to compete with anyone but just do your thing and try to grow and improve as you go. Establish yourself and build from there. Let’s perfect, cultivate our talents for the better, use them in the work of the Lord. Singing has much importance as preaching. It’s never an easy road but continue in prayer and the lord will see you through focus on your goals not on fame and self glory.
We have come to the end of the interview thank you i have learnt a lot and i hope the readers will something learn too
