STAR OF THE MONTH: VINNIE KING

Hey embracers hope you all good, well 2016 has come and gone, i hope 2017 will be a good year for everyone. I am excited to present to you the star of the month Ricco Andrews who is also known as Vinnie King. Vinnie King is an awarding winning musician and he is also a choreographer. He launched his album entitled born international and he recently dropped his single Ruvheneko. I am inspired by his hard work and humility.

Who is Ricco Andrews?

Ricco Andrews is a young and enthusiastic young man, born in Chegutu, grew up in the streets of Mzilikazi who lives off being himself.

Tell us about your passion for music and dancing.

Music was my first love, it all started at St Patricks Primary School where i used to lip sync Shaggy and D12‘s songs on stage with a cool friend of mine, Malvin. Dancing took the better half of me when i got to high school. Me and a couple of friends came together and formed a crew called k-otix which was probably one of the coolest dance crews at the time kkkk. We loved making girls scream. We performed at girls schools in Bulawayo.

What inspired the album title born international? 

Born international was just a statement i believed would help to clarify that, you can still do international standard music even if you are based in Africa.

You received an award for the best album at the Matabeland North music awards tell us how does it feel to be recognised for your hard work?

It really feels great and i believe that it’s a good step in the right direction; it’s also my testimony of what God can do for one if they trust in him.

You were part of the renowned dance group Antivirus, how was your experience in the group?

The experience was wow because without it i wouldn’t have made it this far. We went through a lot as brothers that we could probably tell the story as a movie kkk. Though i am no longer directly involved with the group we still share good times and will always be friends.

Tell us about the initiative #ourkidsneedheroes.

It was a three day event that included, fashion, musical and visual artists.

You recently dropped your single Ruvheneko what inspired you to record the single?

Ruvheneko has defined a type of woman, she is a good example of a local hero and that deserves to be celebrated.

What can your fans expect from you in 2017?

The fans can expect some life changing initiatives, music, events. I am sure those who know me have learnt that i am not predictable but for now you can peacefully set your minds on my debut album. The audience can also expect collaborations and maybe a movie or two.

What advice would you give to aspiring singers and choreographers?

Be yourself, you cannot be another Drake or Nicki Minaj because they are already taken. Read the word of God. Win souls and give. Be a positive role model for that is a brewery of a hero.
