WhoisEstery?
Estery Nyakudya is a lady aged 23 .She is a driven, focused, a go getter, fun loving young lady and someone who loves and fears the Lord.
Tell us about your love for baking.
My love for baking started in high school, it was initially sparked by my food and nutrition teacher who used to encourage me to pursue baking in life. I later started baking at home and got feedback from my family in the form of smiles and 'some more please' statements, that’s when I realised maybe I should go with this.... No event should be memorable without a slice of one of my cakes.
You are a multi-talented young lady, you sing too. How important is music to you?
Yes I do sing as well. It started when I was at junior school but I never took it seriously. I later joined the church choir and I had one leader who really pushed me and trained me well and yes I was grateful for that. I have sung with a couple of musical groups and it was really good because you get to socialise with other people. Being part of Vocal Ex has taught me a lot musically and I have grown a lot. Music is a journey and I am still learning hopefully one day I will record my own album. I am inspired by a lot of artists and this has made me fall in love with music even more. Music is important to me because it calms and soothes my soul, basically it plays a very important role in my life.
What can people expect from you in the near future?
In the near future I'm hoping to open a little shop in town, called Lady Cupcake. My shop will sell baked goods and I want to own a catering company. For now I have started providing baking aids to some of the bakers out there. I am hoping to expand my business worldwide. I also want to start blogging on cakes and food in general.
Music or baking?
Music or baking ummmh. I would say baking is my life. It’s what would make me achieve most of my dreams and get to my target market. It’s basically where my money comes from. And music I do it for socialisation and it takes me to a place where I have never been before. I love both music and baking, but baking is my number one priority and dream, it puts food on the table.
What advice would you give to people who want to venture into the baking business?
At the end of the day, you are selling food, but there is so much power in food. Food brings people together and I must say food is bae kkkkkk. So to those who want to the venture into the baking business take your time and don’t procrastinate. Get up and work even though you don’t have much, start with what you have I assure you, you will enjoy and you will definitely grow.
